Description: Joan has experimented with paints since she was a small child. Over the many years she has attended many workshops to improve her art work and style. This particular painting was done while attending her art society painting days. The jug was bought on a trip to Madeira. It is a typical scene of the Madeira dancers in costume. The Brinquinho is a percussion instrument from Madeira, Portugal, it consists of a pole from the Arundo donax cane that holds sets of small dolls dressed in traditional costumes each holding a castanet.
